A Magician’s Attire – Yesterday and Today

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

Every time someone thinks of an illusionist or a magician, there are particular kinds of clothing which automatically pops out in the mind as to what attire will they be wearing. During our younger years, what comes out in our head each time we picture out a person with matching top hat and a cape is a magician. And yes, we were right then. They were magicians. On the other hand, an illusionist’s attire consists of slacks, a shirt and vest. The outfit worn by an illusionist is brightly colored with matching stones sewn in the attire which sparkles every time it catches light.

The attire worn by these types of people depends on the site or place where the performance will take place. The reason behind this is
apparently reflected to our day to day activities. But in Las Vegas, you might not see such attire before mentioned as how you pictured it out. If and when you see street entertainers, you would probably see them wearing a t-shirt and jeans. An example is Criss Angel. Every time he performs levitation tricks, we usually seem him around with his jeans on.

Now if you see Vitelli perform some of his magic tricks on stage, then better yet expect him wear an outfit that is usually a black suit or attire. On the other hand, as you watch David Copperfield perform his tricks, you will see him wearing a vest and slacks with his white shirt on. He wears white shirt because the light catches the rhinestones attached to his outfit as he swiftly moves his arms.

When you plan of hiring a magician for a birthday party of a child, the magician usually wears the traditional outfit as mentioned earlier which is a cape and top hat. This outfit is what the majority of the children often see. But as you go over internet sites advertising magicians, you will be surprised of the diversity of outfit and colors they wear. And take note, the outfits are stunning and cool apart from the traditional black attire.
